The Open workout 18.2 is the second event of the 2018 CrossFit Games season, sponsored by COMPEX and hosted Thursday the 2nd of March in Pittsburg, USA. Noah OHLSEN and Patrick VELLNER challenge themselves on that second open workout announced by Dave CASTRO.
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 reps for time of:
Men : 50-lb. dumbbells / Women : 50-lb. dumbbells
Establish a 1 Rep max clean
Time cap: 12 minutes to complete 18.2 AND 18.2a
On the DB Squats, start from a full extension on the top.
On the 1RM Clean, squat clean, power clean, split cleans are allowed.

TIPS TO PERFORM
This workout is an ascending format which means it’s gonna get harder and harder as you go through the rounds.
A really important point is that you don’t want to destroy yourself on the first part if it implies that you’ll need then to recover for 4 minutes before your first 1RM Clean attempt.
Ideally, you should recover for about 1 min before your first 1RM attempt.
Also keep in mind that, with the intense effort you made on the first part, your usual 1RM Clean will feel way more challenging so you may start a bit lower and build up from there if you feel good.
On the 1RM it’s better to take some time to recover from each attempt and increase significantly the weight than trying to do as many attempts as possible during the remaining time.
