We recently decided to add people to the team. Julien Voinson is the 1st to join us as an Athlete, not because he's Supa Dupa strong (we're sure he will) but because he sticks to our way of thinking and training. And he's full of potential. Discover him today with this interview!

RTE : Hey Julien, can you introduce yourself in few words?
Julien: Sure ! I’m a sales representative of 28 years old, passionate about self-development, mental functioning and crossfit.
RTE : For how long have you been doing Crossfit?
Julien: I started doing Crossfit in November 2016, so almost 2 years.
RTE : What are your daily motivations? Why are you training everyday?
Julien: My daily motivations are searching how to improve myself professionally, spiritually and working on how to strengthen my mind.
I train to compete, and to have fun with all of my friends!
RTE : We know that you have a certain philosophical approach of life, what’s your philosophy about Crossfit? What does it bring you?
Julien: I must be honest, Crossfit changed my life and my approach on many levels. You learn so much on yourself… Man, I think it’s the sport that I was waiting for since my youngest age!
We often talk about the Judo’s values (Martial arts), because it’s a sport that a lot of kids do first (in France). But I like to think that Crossfit bring important values, and you can “find your way” through it.
It teaches me how to develop a long term vision of training, and take a step back from the leaderboard. Yes of course I like to compete, but the common way of saying “the first competition is with yourself” is true.
Learn to “shut the your ego” because it will bring you down, you and your performances.
You will learn to support your friends, to help them finish their WODs, to lift them up when they fail a PR or loose a competition’s qualifier. You will face some people stronger than you, struggle with some movements or sometimes feel like some lifts are way too heavy for you.
Supporting people, lifting them up, facing adversity, be part of a community and learn how to develop it, being positive even if everything around you looks like hell… This is Crossfit, but also life 🙂
RTE : Do you have any goals for next season? And on the long run?
Julien: I would like to participate to major Elite competitions in team division.
That’s for the « competition » part.
I also got some PR’s that I want to crush and focus my training on my weaknesses for the next season. #TeamChickenLegs
RTE : What does Road To Elite means and represent to you?
Julien: Road to Elite represents the kind of values that I’m searching for in Crossfit and athletes : Humility, always looking for lifting people up, respect every athlete and find a way for every situations.
RTE : How do you feel about joining the team as an athlete?
Julien: Man that’s a great honor for me! It gives me another reason to push my trainings and go harder, smarter and stronger!
Can’t wait to represent the team on the field though!
RTE : If you have to promote Crossfit to someone in one sentence, what would it be?
Julien: « Alone I go faster ; together we go further. »
RTE : Where can we find you on social media?
